Trace Elliott Acoustic PA 12-2/300
This is a stunning PA system focussed on delivering outstanding sound from acoustic instruments. It was built in Maldon Essex by the original Trace Elliott company.
The channels are as follows
-
2 channels voiced for acoustic with a piezo and active jack input on each, with switchable notch filters
-
2 channels for vocals each with an XLR input and a line level jack input
-
2 channels with stereo inputs
-
2 channels with stereo returns.
All the usual controls, foot switchable reverb.
This system uses purpose designed and made speakers, each containing 2 tweeters and a single woofer. The crossover unit is built into the mixer, and requires 4 core Speakon cables (expensive) to link the system. Supplied are a 4m and 6m cables recently sourced using Lynx pro-audio 4x2.5mm2 at a cost of £50.
The system is complete and fully working. The speakers. which fit on standard speaker stands, do have some wear, but this is purely cosmetic. One speaker has some black satin paint missing from the metal grill, and both have some chips in the base plate. Neither has any effect on the use of the PA. A DIY enthusiast could make repairs - I have never got around to it.
This is a really high quality UK made PA system which are now quite rare and sought after. I bought it for a project some years ago, but it has had very little use in the last 2 years.
I have a manual for this system and when I find it I will add a note.
