Conrad Handmade Western Acoustic Model No SW503 SD-SS £ No 00002

This is a beautiful solid wood instrument in absolutely mint condition.

Conrad guitars were never sold in Europe, being made in Japan for a single distributor in the USA.  The following is an extract from a website on Conrad guitars.

Instruments previously produced in Japan between circa 1968 and 1977.

"The Conrad trademark was a brand name used by U.S. importers David Wexler and Company of Chicago, IL. The Conrad product line consisted of six- and twelve-string acoustic guitars, thinline hollowbody electrics, solid body electric guitars and basses, mandolins, and banjos. Conrad instruments were produced by Kasuga International (Kasuga and Tokai USA, Inc.), and featured good quality designs specifically based on popular American designs. . Source: Michael Wright, Guitar Stories, Volume One."

This example features beautiful red/yellow sunburst solid spruce top, solid mahogany back (bookmatched) and sides, a bound neck and peghead. The body has 6 ply binding front and back. The body shape is a standard dreadnought and the sound is exactly what you would expect from a top end solid wood craftsman-made acoustic.

This instrument has had a recent professional set up and has had the action lowered to make this a very playable guitar.  It is an investment grade instrument, and although there is no case, there is a wooden crate for transportation if need be.
